Guelph Royals face do-or-die Game 5 (7 photos)

Drop Game 4 in extra innings Tuesday at Hastings Stadium

The Guelph Royals couldn’t seal the deal Tuesday night at Hastings Stadium.

Adam Hornostaj singled home Matt Reeves from second base in the top of the 10th inning to give the Toronto Maple Leafs a 6-5 win in front of a crowd of roughly 800, the biggest crowd at a Royals game in several years.

That forces a deciding Game 5 in their opening round playoff series Wednesday night in Toronto.

The winner moves on to face the Kitchener Panthers in the Intercounty Baseball League semifinals.

Guelph trailed 4-0 early but battled back to tie the game 5-5 in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Angel Villalona and Brendan Keys each had two hits for Guelph and Darius Barlas had an RBI triple.

Yunior Yambatis started for the Royals and went nine innings before giving way to David Hatt in the 10th.
