Yoga Fest is back for its second year this May, and with some new additions.
The inaugural yoga festival was launched in August of last year as a way to bring the yoga community together in the wake of the pandemic.
The theme is similar this year, with a focus on connecting people and creating stronger bonds within the community through understanding and cooperation.
From Ashtanga to Kundalini, the one-day event features eight 30 minute classes taught by yoga instructors from around the city.
According to organizer Kirstie Griffiths, this year’s event will also have “some fairly unique yoga classes” like sound body yoga, vocal toning and chakra dance.
In addition to lots of yoga, there will be 14 healers and wellness providers offering free onsite services like acupuncture, chiropractic care, massage therapy, reiki and tarot readings, to name a few.
Wellness product vendors include natural stone jewelry, healing crystals, activewear, skincare, percussion instruments, reusable menstrual products, ganoderma coffee and protein donuts.
There will be two small group healing workshops – one focused on self love and another on sound bath and somatic release.
Catering will be provided by Pressed for Time Paninis.
There is also a charity raffle with 100 per cent of raffle ticket sales going to Hospice Wellington.
The event will run on Sunday May 28 from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Linamar’s Frank Hasenfratz Centre.
Full day passes are available for $99; half day passes are also available for $59.
