Vehicle lands in ditch, impaired charge laid

CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP – On April 22, 2016 at approximately 12:50 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to attend a motor vehicle collision on Highway 6 near the 4th Line, Centre Wellington Township. 

A woman driving northbound in a 2006 Toyota left the road and entered the ditch. Police spoke with the woman and believed that alcohol was consumed. 

A roadside screening test was administered which resulted in a fail. She was arrested and transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. 

Further testing was done at the hospital that confirmed alcohol was consumed. 

Her driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

50-year-old Nancy KRESS of Guelph has been charged with Over 80 Mgs, contrary to the Criminal Code.

She is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on June 7, 2016.
