Discussions are ongoing at the University of Guelph, as it ponders whether to change its masking requirements on campus.

It comes after the University of Waterloo announced it would reinstate a mask mandate on campus for some indoor activity, including lectures, seminars, labs, tests, exams and "all other forms of academic instruction wherever it happens indoors," as of Wednesday.

At the moment, masks are required in various spaces as well as the Student Health Centre in the Vaccarino Centre for Student Wellness, including the waiting area and the clinic.

"We continue to encourage everyone on our campuses to wear a mask when indoors, especially in spaces such as elevators and small rooms," Lori Bona Hunt, the university's senior director of media relations, said in an email.

"Wearing a mask is an easy way to help protect themselves and their community."

For a list of spaces where masks are mandatory on campus, visit the university's website.
