TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH - Sometime during the first week of October 2016, a shooting of a Trumpeter Swan took place at Luther Marsh located northeast of Arthur in the Township of Wellington North.

At approximately 9 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 10, 2016, a second shooting of another Trumpeter Swan occurred at the same location.

These birds are part of a restoration program, and were marked with a metal leg band and two large yellow wing tags.

They are distinctive in that they are a large bird with a wing span of 5`or more and have a black bill.
