The monsters are coming alive in Downtown Elora

Volunteers were out getting the Twilight Zoo monsters set up ahead of Monster Month

ELORA – It was a grey and rainy morning in Elora but it was perhaps the fitting atmosphere as Ontario’s most beautiful village turns into the spookiest.

Volunteers were out Tuesday morning putting out the creatures of Tim Murton’s Twilight Zoo ahead of Monster Month in Elora, celebrated with events all October long.

These paper mache monsters can be found in Downtown Elora on buildings, sidewalks and just about anywhere one looks in Downtown Elora on Metcalfe Street, Mill Street and others in the area.

Events this Monster Month include:

  • Elora and Fergus lantern tours
  • Fergus House of Horrors
  • Pumpkin Day
  • Sensational Soup Off
  • Monster March parade
  • Fall at the Farm
  • The Awakening
  • Halloween Haunt Street Walk
  • Spooky Stables

Monster Month is run by Sensational Elora, s a non-profit organization in Centre Wellington focused on tackling local food insecurity through proceeds from year-round family focused events.

A full listing of events, with dates, times and locations can be found here.
