There’s only two things that can happen when new owners come in to takeover an existing company: business either improves or it doesn’t.

Since taking over Graniteworx Inc in 2022, owners Sam and Nancy El Sayed can happily say their business has continued to grow as customers from Guelph and K/W to the GTA discover his wide array of products and services.

“Last year we did more business than any other year before,” Sam El Sayed said about Graniteworx, a company with a slab gallery offering close to 100 different full slabs of natural stone, quartz, porcelain and granite. “Our business grew between 35 and 40 percent. My goal is to keep growing.”

In their previous career roles, the El Sayeds worked for a large manufacturing company that operated three facilities. After developing their passion and expertise in the manufacturing sector, Sam and Nancy decided to pursue business ownership and took over Graniteworx from its founders.

Driving the continued growth at Graniteworx is the company’s wide array of products for kitchen, bath, fireplace, wall cladding and other home renovation projects. In fact, Graniteworx has become an industry leader in brand name granite, quartz and porcelain, with products from companies like Cambria,

“I think the quality of products has become higher than ever before,” explained to El Sayed. “It’s a major reason why we are gaining so many new clients.”

In addition to piloting the family business to greater success, to El Sayed is ensuring the company is doing its part to support the community. One major initiative is offering charities and not-for-profit organizations access to free product when needed.

“We are committed to helping the community Guelph,” said the Graniteworx owner. “We are willing to donate materials to any charitable or not-for-profit organization that may need our products. We would donate materials. We would just charge the labour costs.”

New trends in design include islands with waterfall panels and granite installations that run from floor to ceiling. The experts at Graniteworx can show customers all the new products and options currently on display in the company’s large showroom. As the leading name in the industry, Graniteworx invites all customers to come in and see the wide array of products available.

El Sayad said the staff at Graniteworx is a major reason for the continued success of the company.

“We really care about our employees. We are happy to work with them. I enjoy it when I can hire more people and in turn help the community. As a business owner I am happy when the company is growing.”
