City of Guelph map shows where the road closure will take place.

A busy section of Norfolk Street between Macdonell Street and Waterloo Avenue will be closed starting Monday for at least three weeks.

The closure is necessary to install underground electrical systems for the new Wilson Street Parkade, says the City of Guelph notice on its website.

Construction starts Feb. 4 and will last three weeks, weather permitting, the notice says.

Detour signals for vehicles will be posted.

Pedestrians will be able to use the sidewalk along the west side of Norfolk Street. The sidewalk along Wilson Street between Waterloo Avenue and Macdonell Street will also remain open.

Guelph Transit routes 9, 41 and 99 will be impacted during construction. Visit guelphtransit.ca for information about stop changes and route detours.
