The Rotary Club of Guelph Trillium is thrilled to announce a unique event at this year’s Ribfest that will delight children and families alike. On Saturday, August 24th, at 10:30 AM sharp, celebrated Canadian author Robert Munsch will personally narrate his beloved story, Mortimer, in a captivating puppet play presented by The Puppet Company, Guelph Puppet et Cetera, and the Storytelling Guild.

This extraordinary collaboration brings to life Munsch’s classic tale in a way that’s sure to enchant audiences of all ages. Ellen Webb, the talented owner of Puppets et Cetera and a proud member of the Guelph Guild of Storytellers, has meticulously recreated Mortimer’s bedroom as the set for this production.

Robert Munsch, a literary icon whose work has touched the hearts of millions, will be present in person for this special one-hour event. Due to prior commitments, he will only be able to stay for a short time, so attendees are encouraged to arrive early to ensure they don’t miss this unique opportunity. Unfortunately, Robert is unable to autograph books at this event, but his live storytelling promises to be an unforgettable experience.

“We are incredibly excited to host Robert Munsch and showcase this wonderful puppet play,” said Dan O'Donnell, spokesperson for the Rotary Club of Guelph Trillium. “This is a rare chance for families to enjoy a live performance of Mortimer with the author himself. We’re expecting a great turnout, so be sure to arrive early to secure a spot!”

In addition to the puppet play, Ribfest will offer a variety of family-friendly activities, including face painting, a chance to meet local sports team players from the Guelph Storm, rock climbing, and a Midway full of fun and excitement. And of course, attendees can enjoy a wide array of delicious food from the Ribfest vendors.

The Rotary Club of Guelph Trillium is looking forward to a day filled with laughter, joy, and community spirit. Don’t miss this exceptional event. Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 23rd at 10:00 AM and join a fun singalong with Larry Gibbs!

The hour also includes two renowned tellers, Adwoa Badoe and Susan Ida Boacaud
