Our Lady of Lourdes celebrated the wide range of cultures represented in the school Wednesday with its first ever Cultural Festival.
The two-hour evening event saw families from the Lourdes community and beyond enjoy food and culture from around the world: all for free.
"It was led by our school council here at Our Lady of Lourdes," said school principal Tim Yawney.
"It's the first time we've done this and we've had a rousing response from our community."
Fifteen cultures, 22 display tables and six entertainment acts took part.
"As soon as we tapped into the diversity that is Lourdes it was really easy for us, because the parents then said 'I have an opportunity to share my culture and I'd be excited to do that," Yawney said.
"I'm very pleased with the turnout. I think everyone is really enjoying the diversity and the culture and they're enjoying the food, of course.
"Tables were set up offering food from 15 different cultures.
Everything from butter tarts at the Canadian table to Moroccan stuffed pastries and German cheesecake were available for sampling as members of the Lourdes community rose to the occasion.
Entertainment was provided by the Royal City Academy of Irsish Dance, Coro Cantitalia Italian choir, Filipino dancers, the Grand Celtic Pipe Band and a host of Lourdes students.
