Guelph's homeless situation has been in the news all year.
Unhoused Aaron Collins thought he was following all the rules and guidelines when he set up his tent and living area in a park just off downtown, safely storing containers, keeping the site clean, no partying, etc. But the local neighbours were furious.
There were confrontations, caught on video, unsubstantiated claims and even threats. All this despite the fact city bylaw officers had come by and given a thumbs up to Collins' situation.
Luckily, cooler heads prevailed.
