This month Friends of the Guelph Public Library brings its fall speaker series to life with two events.
The speaker series called Open Minds is live and is meant to empower people. Kevin Matsul, the managing director of CARE-AI at the University of Guelph will speak about artificial intelligence, how it influences daily life, the potential risks and how to navigate it. His speaker event is Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. at the main library.
The second Open Minds event speakers are Sarah Bowers-Peter from Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington and Elizabeth Kent from Victim Services Wellington. Their talk is called Scams & Frauds and is about learning tactics con artists use to arm yourself with knowledge to protect yourself. This event is Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. at the main library.
Both sessions are free but registration is required and can be done so online.
