The Ignatius Jesuit Centre (IJC) is inviting people looking to make a meaningful impact to attend its upcoming Volunteer Fair.

The event provides an opportunity to explore volunteer roles that support IJC’s mission of ecological sustainability, spiritual growth, and community engagement.

The fair will showcase the ways volunteers can get involved at IJC, including assisting with the organic farm, helping maintain the community orchard, supporting administrative efforts, and contributing to ecological restoration projects.

Attendees will have the chance to meet staff, ask questions, and sign up for opportunities that align with their interests and skills, the organization said in a news release.

“Volunteers are at the heart of what we do,” said Greg Kennedy, executive director. “Their dedication helps us sustain our programs, care for the land, and foster a community rooted in ecological stewardship and spiritual reflection.”

The Ignatius Jesuit Centre is known for its commitment to ecological justice, community-minded agriculture, and fostering a deep connection to the land.

Volunteers play a crucial role in sustaining these initiatives while gaining hands-on experience, building relationships, and making a positive difference, the centre said.

Community members of all backgrounds and experience levels are encouraged to attend the fair to learn how they can contribute.

"Whether you have a passion for farming, administration, environmental conservation, or community engagement, there’s a place for you at the Ignatius Jesuit Centre," the IJC said.

The fair takes place on two dates: April 9 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and April 12 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at 5420 Hwy. 6 North. Follow the blue signs to Loyola House.

Food and beverages from the Loyola Kitchen will be provided.
