Guelph's Wil McFadden, seen in action earlier this season, had a goal and an assist in Flint Tuesday.

FLINT – Zach Jovanovski made 38 saves and Wil McFadden scored the winner early in the third period as the Guelph Storm snapped a 10-game losing skid with a 2-1 victory over the Flint Firebirds Tuesday.

It was a make-up game from one postponed by bad weather last month.

Flint's Sam McCue and Guelph's Lev Katzin exchanged first period goals and the second period was scoreless.

Jovanovski's heroics included stopping a Flint penalty shot in the first period.

Storm captain Jett Luchanko was given a five-minute major for boarding and game misconduct in the third period after hitting Flint's Jimmy Lombardi from behind in the corner.

Luchanko will likely miss the Storm's game Thursday at home against Erie and Saturday in Owen Sound to a suspension.

The Storm wraps up its season Sunday at home against Kitchener.
