The Guelph Fringe Festival is happening from Aug. 10 to Aug. 13, 2023.

The Guelph Fringe Festival returns this week, with a total of 45 live shows performed in four days at venues around downtown Guelph.

Each year, the fringe festival provides a platform for emerging and established artists to showcase their talents in theatre, dance, music and creative storytelling, and this year is no different.

Running from Aug. 10 to Aug. 13, each of the 15 production companies involved will perform three shows at one of three local venues: The Red Brick Cafe, Silence, and the Guelph Civic Museum.

Performances “could be a personal drama, a lively dance, a mini musical, or something completely unexpected, but there’s something for everyone,” said festival coordinator Paul Barson in a press release. “That’s the magic of the fringe.”

New this year is Fireflies on the Fringe, a family-friendly performance by Beppie and The Shadow Puppet Theatre.

All tickets are $15, and artists participating in the festival will receive $12 from every ticket sold. Ticket sales end two hours before each performance. Any remaining tickets can be purchased with cash only at the venue prior to showtime.
