County council has conditionally committed to a company to deliver transitional housing support at 65 Delhi Street in Guelph.

In a new report approved during county council Thursday morning, staff said they will collaborate with Thresholds Homes and Supports Inc. over the summer to develop a service agreement that "meets the support requirements of 65 Delhi Street and its future residents."

The agreement would take place over three years with a possible two-year extension subject to existing budgets and the service agreement's approval by the county solicitor and the social services administrator.

Expected to open at the end of 2024, staff said the annual funding available for this project is $1.2 million.

The conditional commitment would be made with the existing budget and is not anticipated to impact the county's 2024 or 2025 budgets.

Thresholds was the only proponent to submit a bid and proposal to deliver support services for the project.
