Business Centre Guelph-Wellington is pleased to welcome Bailey Baker, Karen Johnson, and Jamie Waites to its board of directors, effective July 1.
“I’m thrilled Bailey, Karen and Jamie are joining the board of directors for the Business Centre,” said Kristel Manes, Executive Director of BCGW. “Their wealth of experience will have a positive impact on the Business Centre and for our clients and I am excited to work with these incredible business leaders.”
Bailey Baker is a certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) with a Master’s Certificate in Organizational Development and Change Management from the Schulich School of Business. Her passion for small businesses in the community began during her tenure as the Rhyze Project Coordinator at Boundless Accelerator. After her time at Boundless, Bailey supported small to medium-sized businesses as an HR Consultant and has worked in Organizational Development and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at the Upper Grand District School Board. In addition to joining the BCGW Board of Directors, Bailey serves as the chair of the Human Resources Committee for United Way Guelph Wellington.
Karen Johnson has built a successful career spanning sales, marketing, and management within the architectural and interior design specification sector of commercial projects across North America. Her journey also includes firsthand entrepreneurial experience in the hospitality industry, adding depth to her understanding of customer needs and industry dynamics. Beyond her professional achievements, Karen remains actively involved in her community, passionately supporting fellow entrepreneurs and initiatives that drive positive change.
Jamie Waites is a Financial Advisor in Guelph with Cory Young Insurance Group Inc. – Co-operators. Providing guidance and expertise for commercial/farm insurance matched with a holistic approach for financial planning and income protection. Jamie welcomes the opportunity to foster the growth and expansion of small businesses within our community.
In the coming months, the Board of BCGW will contribute to the strategic growth of the organization and celebration of its 25th anniversary in November.
