The city’s automated speed enforcement cameras (ASECs)are once again set to shift locations, following a three-month stint in their current spots.

On Nov. 1, city officials will move the cameras to a different group of school zones.

They will be set up in front of:

  • Kortright Hills P.S. on Ptarmigan Drive
  • Guelph Montessori School on Waterloo Avenue
  • Holy Rosary CS on Emma Drive
  • Priory Park PS and École St. René Goupil School on Scottsdale Drive.

The cameras take photos of vehicles going above the posted speed limit and generate tickets for the registered owner, without demerit points. They’ve been moved to different school zones every three months since they were first set up in August, 2023.

The mobile ASECs are currently located outside Resurrection Christian Academy School on Knightswood Boulevard, Sacred Heart Catholic School on Huron Street, Gateway Drive PS on Gateway Drive and Jean Little Public School on Youngman Drive.

On Feb. 1 they’re set to move to Rickson Avenue in front of Rickson Ridge PS, Waverly Drive in front of Waverly Drive PS, McElderry Road in front of St. Michael Catholic School and Ottawa Crescent in front of Ottawa Crescent PS.

As of May 1, ASECs are expected to be put on Westwood Road in front of St. Peter CS, Water Street in front of Mezzan School of Guelph, Bright Street in front of École L’Odysée School and Goodwin Drive in front of Westminster Woods PS.
