Guelph's second Walmart will open bright and early on Thursday morning.
The Walmart Supercentre on Stone Road will be open to the public starting at 7 a.m., the company said. An official grand opening ceremony will be held at 8 a.m.
The former Target department store is now a 121,000 square foot Walmart that employs approximately 170 full and part-time staff for which the company said it received close to 500 job applications.
A "grand opening party" is planned for Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will include family activities, live music, samples and a special appearance by Shopkins characters.
