Actress Mary Walsh, best known for her work on the long-running CBC show This Hour Has 22 Minutes, will be appearing at the Eden Mills Writers' Festival next month.
Walsh is scheduled to read from her first novel Crying For The Moon at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, during a segment titled No Dress Rehearsal, This Is Our Life that includes authors Dan Needles and Terry Fallis.
Walsh will be one of 40 authors reading from their latest works in the village of Eden Mills.
Crying For The Moon is the story of a young woman coming of age in 1960s St. John’s, Newfoundland. She ditches her convent school girls’ choir on a trip to Expo ’67 in Montreal then makes some bad, life-altering decisions over the course of the visit.
This year's festival kicks off with In Conversation With Naomi Klein Saturday, Sept. 9, beginning at 1 p.m. at the University of Guelph's War Memorial Hall.
A writing workshop with Lisa Moore scheduled for Saturday is sold out.
A full list of authors scheduled to appear Sept. 10 can be found on the festival web site.
