10C SHARED SPACE

10C Shared Space is celebrating 15 years of community placemaking and changemaking on Friday and Saturday.

On October 21, 2008, 10C’s Co-founders Julia Grady and Annie O’Donoghue signed their first lease at 10 Carden Street, and began what has become a community-based movement to drive local impact through curiosity, connection and collaboration.

15 years in and 10C has grown from 3,500 to 40,000 square feet of social purpose real estate, including the coworking, commercial kitchen, and event space at 42 Carden Street and operation of the 200-year-old Guelph Farmers’ Market at 2 Gordon Street.

10C is six years into the transformation and reactivation of the historic Ackers’ Furniture building at 42 Carden Street. This building acquisition and changemaker space was made possible with 140 community investors who raised $2.5 million to bring the $5 million project to life.

10C continues to play a leadership role in re-imagining important Guelph community spaces. In 2022, 10C assumed the stewardship of the Guelph Farmers’ Market. They are working to reinvigorate this important Guelph landmark with a thriving Saturday market and additional space uses, all with a continued dedication to celebrating local food and community connection.

“These projects, from 2008 to today, don’t happen by accident and they don’t happen on their own. 10C’s birthday celebration is an acknowledgement of community, of every remarkable human (and some pets too!) who helped create lasting community change and incredible moments within our space,” says Julia Grady, Executive Director & Co-Founder at 10C Shared Space.

Whether you’re connecting with 10C for the first time or are a frequent visitor, you are invited to join their community of changemakers at:
