GuelphToday received the following Letter to the Editor from reader Annette Graydon, in regards to our article, Single complaint hits the brakes on 14 years of charitable bike repairs:
I mean, really, is this where we want to land, Guelph?
We have only lived in Guelph for eight years but our knowledge of 'The Bike Lady' came from when our kids first came here for school.
Someone with a heart of gold who made everyone smile when they drove by.
Oh, wait, no not everyone. ONE awful, mean-spirited person actually complained. Why?
Honestly, it beggars the imagination to try and figure it out. But YOU, the bylaw person who took the call, you couldn't use some judgment?
It took HOW long for those poor folks with the attacking dog pack to get any action and THIS is where you dig in??
I am so embarrassed for my city.
As soon as I see that Go Fund me for Mary, I'm in, and writing to the council too.
Make some noise, this is WRONG.
