ROCKWOOD – More than 2,000 customers in Rockwood lost power Sunday due to the wind storm.

“At the peak of the storm yesterday, 2,064 Rockwood customers experienced an outage caused by loss of supply from Hydro One,” said Rachel Bertone, Alectra Utilities spokesperson.

“This was related to the storm and as soon as Hydro One fixed the supply problem, customers were restored.”

Bertone confirmed that there are no current outages in Rockwood meaning everyone has had their power restored.

This outage caused some school closures on Monday.

Wellington-Dufferin Student Transportation Services, which is the bus service for Rockwood, tweeted this morning that Sacred Heart Catholic School in Rockwood and Eramosa Public School outside of town were closed and buses cancelled due to hydro issues.

The County of Wellington also tweeted that the Rockwood library branch is closed as well.
