Get ready for the annual event that combines mouthwatering food with a heartfelt cause. Taste of Guelph is returning to celebrate its 26th year, promising an array of flavours while raising funds for community healthcare.

The garden party fundraiser — put on by St. Joseph's Health Centre Foundation — welcomes over 700 community members to the grounds of the Health Centre to sample 50 of the region's finest restaurants, caterers, vintners, brewers and bakers.

The event proceeds allow the purchase of vital patient care equipment and specialized programming at St. Joseph's that government funding does not cover.

"That's why St. Joe's relies on the support of the community and our signature fundraising event, Taste of Guelph," explained communications officer Katie Burnett. "The collective generosity of our community truly makes a difference in the lives of patients and residents and helps to ensure St. Joe's will continue its mission of care for generations to come."

Since 2015, Taste of Guelph has raised nearly $1 million, with last year alone bringing in $180,000 for St. Joseph's.

"Over the past 26 years, Taste of Guelph has become a much-beloved event in our community," says Sera Filice-Armenio, CEO of St. Joseph's Health Centre Foundation.

"But Taste also plays a vital role in ensuring that our community has access to the best possible rehabilitation, hospital, palliative and long-term care. This year, we hope to raise close to $200,000 to help those in our community facing complex and often life-altering health challenges."

Last year's proceeds helped complete the newly renovated Therapeutic Spa and Tub Rooms, allowing people facing advanced diseases, disability and terminal illnesses to experience the healing effects of bathing with increased privacy, dignity and comfort. Funds also went toward the Nurse Call Bell System, ensuring staff can respond to patients and residents with increased safety and monitoring.

Earlybird tickets for the September 17th event are on sale now and include access to all the food and drink vendors, live music and live auction.

Additionally, guests can reserve a limited number of seated tables for four guests.
