St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph (SJHCG) is celebrating 160 years!
The hospital was built on community support and today, SJHCG still operates thanks to its generous donors who help to fund the vital equipment and programming that is necessary to provide the high-quality health care that the hospital is known for. Inspired by the legacy of the Sisters of St. Joseph, SJHCG is dedicated to compassionate, person-centred care through discovery, innovation and partnerships.
Over the last century and a half, SJHCG has grown into a leading, fully accredited, not-for-profit provider of specialized hospital care, in-patient rehabilitation services, palliative care and long-term care. It provides care to some of Guelph’s most medically compromised and vulnerable.
SJHCG also offers outpatient services to people of all ages through its programs including Acquired Brain Injury, Young Onset Dementia, Alzheimer’s Day, Overnight Stay, Aphasia programs as well as the Ontario Autism Program Caregiver-Mediated Early Years Program for children 12 and under.
To support compassion, care, courage and COVID-19 recovery, St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation Guelph has launched an important fundraising campaign to help fund necessary medical equipment.
Gifts to the campaign will go toward easing pain, providing comfort and promoting independence and mobility for those the hospital is privileged to care for. The Equipment Wish List includes:
- Height adjustable beds;
- Scans to help provide accurate diagnoses;
- Patient lifts to ensure patient safety and mobility; and
- Advanced technology that can measure pressure points on a patient’s body to guide treatment.
If sufficient funds are raised for a particular project donors have chosen to support, donations will be allocated toward the greatest equipment needs.
Please consider making a gift to the campaign. Your gift, big or small, will make a real difference! Every gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Joan and Howard Robinson and Family, loyal SJHCG supporters.
