My name is Cheryl Stelzer and I am a sole practitioner in Guelph Ontario, specializing in Family Law, Real Estate and Estate matters. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about my office, team, and culture.
The office is located at 363 Woolwich Street, Guelph. It is situated in a beautiful, historical building that dates back to the late 1800’s.
When you walk into our office you can expect to be greeted with enthusiasm by Molly. Molly is our resident Labradoodle and office mascot!

Nicole is our dedicated senior real estate law clerk. Her impressive organization skills make buying, selling or refinancing your home a simple and seamless process.
Terresa is my senior family law clerk. She assists in answering clients’ questions and she offers support and guidance to our clients throughout what can be a very challenging process.
A Rich History
I graduated Osgoode Law School in 1991 and was called to the Bar in 1993. I initially worked in Toronto before relocating to Guelph. “New Team in Town” - That was the headline that ran in the Mercury when we opened our office (originally called “Smith & Stelzer Law Office”) back in 1996. The women in the photograph formed a group of beautiful strong women who met as mature students at Osgoode Law School. We survived three grilling years of Law School, a year of articles, and the dreaded Bar Exams as a Team. The photograph was commissioned as we were all extremely proud of our accomplishments with our call to the Bar in 1993. Two of my associates, Carolyn Thomas and Marnie Smith were lost to illness. Tricia Sinclair, Jean Franklin-Hancher and Nancy MacIvor have now retired leaving me to carry the flag for the group. I am proud of these roots.
I practice in the areas of Family Law, Real Estate and Estate matters. For the past 20 years, I have been dedicated to protecting my clients’ entitlements while in the same instance seeking their most favorable outcomes.
Whether my clients are buying a home or protecting their families by drawing up their Estate Plan - representing their interests is what fuels my drive! Put our collective experience to work for you! This is my guiding Mantra!
