With a unique and current customer service strategy and a strong online presence, Tom Middlebro has helped his family’s tire business continue to grow and attract happy customers. In business since 1990 and coming into its second generation of management, Ted’s Tire Discounter is a family venture dedicated to getting your vehicle rolling.
From their online appointment booking system to the express quote widget on their home page, Ted’s Tire makes taking care of your tire needs as easy as a click or two.
They offer tire repair, tire installation, tire rotation, wheel balancing, seasonal tire storage, and nitrogen inflation. Their website is also a hub of information, allowing the interested customer to become informed. They share knowledge on how to avoid a flat tire, how to choose the right tires for your car, and how to make your tires last.
Currently running their Summer Show and Shine Giveaway Contest on Facebook, Ted’s Tire is offering the chance to win a Cooper tire and DAI wheel package valued at up to $1300. Tom notes that Cooper tires offer great value. “They aren’t cheap, but they are not the most expensive brand either. We’ve been a dealer of Cooper tires for 29 years.” The contest runs until the end of the month and the winner will be announced on July 31st.
Whether it’s online or in-store, offering their expertise to customers is important to Tom. Referencing a recent online review with an obvious amount of pride, Tom quotes, “The staff provides knowledgeable and honest opinions of their products to help you make the best decisions for your vehicle and price point. The staff is also friendly and helped me out on multiple occasions.” Tom ends reading with a smile. “This is why we do what we do.”
Tom wants people to know that this shop honestly has no agenda and they want what’s in the best interest for those who come through their doors.
“We don’t upsell or try to sell inferior products. I would hope that somebody would treat me the same way when I go someplace where I don’t know anything.”

How to beat summertime tire woes
It’s hot and we all want to get out of town. Summertime has us driving longer distances to get to the places we love. Summertime also brings with it an increase in in flat tires. Trailer and RV tires are particularly susceptible.
So, how do you make sure that a flat won’t derail your road trip? First of all, make sure your tires are in good condition before you set out. Maintain proper air pressure, check your treads, and take a good look for any wear and tear.
It’s also important to make sure that you have a spare tire and that it’s also in good condition. You won’t be stranded and getting somewhere for a tire repair will be much easier.
Thirdly, don’t be fooled by a ten dollar tire repair when you do get your tire back to a shop. These quick fixes are temporary and your tire can fail catastrophically if not repaired with overall structure in mind. The right way to get a tire fixed is by having a patch and rubber plug installed, which reinforces the structure of the whole tire.
Tom says that this repair takes generally takes about half an hour, so you’ll quickly be back on the road, chasing those summertime feelings.
