It’s not uncommon for people to spend tens of thousands of dollars on renovations to make their home exactly as they want it. But one area of your home that you might be underutilizing is your garage.

Because it’s very utilitarian, the garage sometimes becomes an afterthought when it comes to renovating, organizing, and showcasing your home. Encore Poly-Floor are the experts at transforming your garage into a complete show-stopper.

It starts from the ground up with their epoxy flooring, but those upgrades often morph into a much bigger plan to transform an entire garage. Matthew Kwantes is the owner of Encore Poly-Floor, and he’s dealt with everything from partially finished garages, to barebones studs, to a total revamp.

By installing PVC wall systems and slatwalls, that often neglected garage space finally gets the attention it deserves. No more 2x4s hanging on the wall for hanging shovels and brooms, this system gives everything a neat and tidy place to live.

“We can clad all substrates with a PVC wall system and at the end of a couple days, you have a completely finished room,” Kwantes said. “There are no boundaries as far as what it can’t go on. If it’s a wall or ceiling surface, this stuff can be attached to it.”

Because Encore Poly-Floor uses Trusscore tongue-and-groove panels, the installation is brisk compared to traditional drywall. There is no mudding, sanding or painting with the PVC boards and slatwalls, which saves time and ultimately saves the customer money compared to drywalling a garage.

The half-inch thick panels are maintenance free and they also come with a few benefits that drywall doesn’t. These panels are waterproof and they’re extremely durable and even strong enough to be used as target practice with pucks. That’s how durable these boards are, which is crucial in a storage area like a garage.

“It creates a clean room like you would see at a laboratory,” Kwantes said. “It’s a neat, clean, washable, strong and durable finish. It’s two thin pieces of PVC that are joined by a truss-shaped corrugation in the middle, and that’s what gives it the strength. It’s the same thickness as drywall, and it makes the installation very similar to drywall.”

In addition to the PVC wall panels, plenty of Encore Poly-Floor customers use a combination of built-in slatwalls to store their tools, gardening supplies, bikes, sports equipment, basically anything they want to get off the floor of their garage.

These slatwalls are as customizable as you’d like, and Encore Poly-Floor will help map out the storage solutions for your garage. Even tire storage with built-in brackets is one way to open up some real estate in the space.

The slatwalls aren’t just great for garages, they also work in launch rooms, storage areas, basements, furnace rooms and workshops.

Whether it’s an epoxy floor to breathe new life into the space, PVC walls and slatwalls to organize the garage, or a combination of both treatments, Encore Poly-Floor’s customers are often stunned by the final results.

“Everybody loves it because it’s such a transformation,” Kwantes said. “One of my reviews on Google somebody called their shelves ‘beautiful’. It just changes an entire space. Before, you have this dark, dirty room, and now you’ve got this clean, laboratory-looking space. People get really excited about it.”
