There’s no doubt that time is becoming one of our most valuable commodities. People leading busy lives and balancing multiple priorities are always looking for ways to carve back some of those responsibilities to gather more time for themselves.
Dettmer Tire and Auto Service recognized how important providing fast and efficient service was to their customers. This led to the idea of a mobile tire division. To facilitate this, Dettmer Tire has brought on Alex Roberts (formerly TheTirePros) as its newest partner. The new branch, called Dettmer Mobile is offering mobile winter tire swap service to customers across the greater Guelph area.
“I think there is a demand from customers. It’s really a convenience thing,” said Josh Adams, one of the owners of Dettmer Tire and Auto Service. “People are much busier these days. With our mobile service it means customers don’t have to be without a vehicle for a period of time. We come to them, we can complete the tire swap at work, at home, or wherever they are.”
According to Adams, winter tire swap season is one of the busiest times for the automotive service sector as people rush in to get their winter tires on before the snow flies. This new offering from Dettmer Tire will allow for customers to get the tires done easier and faster than before. Dettmer Tire will also offer appointments at both its stores.
Roberts ran TheTirePros for seven years, but felt the time was right to expand and become one of the new partners at Dettmer Tire. “It’s a good thing for us,” said Adams. “We wanted somebody as invested into this section of the business as we were.”
“I had worked with the wholesale side of Dettmer’s business for a few years,” said Roberts. “I got to know the guys and the owners. I like being with them from the start. They’re a solid bunch. They offer good pricing and good customer service. It’s one of many reasons that I wanted to partner with them.”
Roberts is excited to provide this opportunity to his customer base as well as Dettmer Tire’s. Customers looking for convenience can now book their service online. Roberts said the appointment should take approximately 30 minutes for winter tires already on rims or about an hour to replace the current tires.
To facilitate the new mobile tire swap service, Dettmer has hired and trained a dedicated crew that operates using three fully equipped mobile service vans. These mobile trucks are already operating. When it comes to which kind of tires you should be putting on your vehicle to maximize your safety levels for winter driving, Adams said he still suggests getting a dedicated winter tire.
“Our staff has been trained to fit each individual customer with the best and safest tire for them. They have gone through training to learn how each tire perform under different conditions and match them to our customers specific needs” he said.
