As a business or a resident in Guelph and area, sometimes it’s hard to figure out how to help your community. You’d like to make a big impact and leave a lasting impression, but you’re not sure how to do this, or how to get started.
Ribfest can make it easy, as you can make a big difference in your community by leveraging your donations through a Rotary Club of Guelph-Trillium Ribfest sponsorship.
“Ribfest is a free event that Rotary organizes, one of the few events that has no financial barriers, and that anyone can attend,” explained Ribfest co-chair Dan O'Donnell. “To make this possible, we rely on support from our business community to help offset expenses, which then allows us to put more funds towards our Rotary charitable projects.”
Rotary Club of Guelph-Trillium’s Ribfest is celebrating 25 years of helping to serve the Guelph community raising over $1.2 million for local organizations such as Action Read, Big Brothers-Big Sisters, Children’s Foundation, Enabling Gardens, Guelph Public Library, Hospice Wellington, J.O.E., Kids Ability, Hope House, St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation, Sunrise Therapeutic, Women in Crisis, and YMCA/YWCA, to name a few.
O’Donnell expanded, “To do all this good we rely on the continued support of local businesses. Ribfest is a great opportunity for businesses to jump in and be involved, through various sponsorship opportunities or company volunteer programs.”
There are multiple sponsorship levels, so any local business, big or small, can be involved. Just contact the sponsorship committee here to commit.
If you would rather donate your time, there are lots of opportunities to volunteer at Ribfest as well. “We have several hundred volunteer shifts to fill, including table duty, gate greeters, or clean-up of the park,” said O’Donnell. There is an easy online sign up page on our website and we also have opportunities for teams to volunteer in exchange for a donation from the Club to their team.
Ribfest is a family event that the whole community can enjoy! Obviously, there is great food, in addition to the ribs (check out the Ribbers) we have several new non-rib food vendors this year. Check out the full listing here.
More Fun Things for the family include:
- Awesome Musical Performers

So, plan to come out and get involved, whether as a sponsor, a volunteer, or a community member just looking for a great weekend of fun in Guelph. Check the website here for all the information, and see you at Riverside Park August 25 to 27, 2023.
