“Joy to the World!”
These days, it’s sometimes hard to feel the joy of the holiday season, or to figure out how you can bring joy to the world. Michael House is offering you a way to do just that.
“Our Michael House Christmas Joy Campaign invites the community to create joy that lasts beyond Christmas,” said Maria Borda, Michael House fundraising coordinator.
Michael House provides shelter and support to pregnant and parenting women and their children in need, through its residential, supportive housing, after-care, and drop in programming.
“We provide the help they need for the betterment of themselves, their children, and their circumstances,” said Borda. “But we need the community’s support!”
The Christmas Joy campaign offers the community different ways to help. There is an online auction running from December 3 to 11, or ways to donate by phone, in person at the office, or online, until the end of January.
‘We have some fantastic items in our online auction,” said Borda enthusiastically. “Zumba classes, climbing passes, theatre tickets, holiday gift baskets, gift certificates for so many restaurants, and more. We really appreciate all the businesses who donated to our fabulous online auction.”
Community members can also donate by pledging a monetary donation to Michael House, through to January 31, 2025. “Monetary support means so much to us,” explained Borda. “Every contribution helps ensure families receive meaningful gifts, essential items, and ongoing support well into 2025.”
Michael House is hoping the community can reach into its pockets and support pregnant and parenting women and children in need, right here at home.
"Your support doesn’t just provide Christmas joy—it creates a lasting impact. By giving, you’re helping families thrive well beyond the holiday season. Join us in spreading hope and making a difference today!”
