Imagine wall and ceiling panels that are both high-performance and easy to install. That’s what you’ll get with Trusscore, a remarkable new drywall alternative.

This product combines sustainable materials with nanotechnology. The result is PVC-based replacements for traditional drywall and fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) panels. They are reusable, recyclable and durable.

Trusscore is an innovation that has applications in many sectors; it can be used in residential and commercial construction, as well as agriculture. It also offers many benefits. Using these high-strength PVC panels can save time and money—something DIYers and contractors alike will appreciate—and produce a better finished product.

“Trusscore is the solution if you’re looking for an attractive, maintenance-free way to finish your garage,” says Mark Nykamp, Operations Manager, JL’s Home Hardware Building Centre.

Two specific products are currently being offered: the Trusscore Wall&Ceiling Board and the Trusscore SlatWall. These have been designed to be the ideal alternative to conventional residential wall systems like painted drywall.

The downside of drywall

Drywall has been used for years in construction and until now there have never really been any great alternatives. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a few drawbacks though.

Drywall is quite heavy and labour-intensive to install. It also has some weaknesses when it comes to water: it doesn’t withstand it very well, shows water stains, swells and potentially supports the growth of mold and mildew. A lot of it ends up in landfill at the end of every job, which is certainly very damaging for the environment.

The benefits of Trusscore

Every piece of Wall&Ceiling Board has an internal truss design that supports it. This makes the product very tough and durable; the panels do not degrade or break down. They’re so strong, in fact, that they tend to outlive the buildings they’ve been installed in.

Installation is easy, thanks to an interlocking tongue-and-groove system. Trusscore is actually four times faster to install than existing alternatives. The panels are lightweight yet very strong. They have a bright white appearance and a smooth finish, which means no painting is required, saving you even more time and money.

They are durable, moisture-resistant and very easy to clean. Simply wipe them down with a cloth—you can even use a pressure washer!

Lastly, because the product is recyclable, it’s a much greener choice, one you can feel good about.

Popular applications

In the home, Trusscore panels work especially well in garages, basements, workshops, home gyms and mudrooms. You can also use them in pantries and closets.

In commercial settings, use these PVC panels in offices, restaurants and hospitality venues.

Use this product in basically any room or facility where a crisp, clean, long-lasting finish is desired. Ideal agricultural applications include barns, animal containment and indoor grow rooms.

Named one of the most innovative building products, Trusscore Wall&Ceiling Board was recognized at the Best of International Builders’ Show (IBS) Awards. These panels are truly transforming modern construction, changing the way interior walls and ceilings are being built.
