Two more Toronto-area men have been arrested following a break-in early Friday at a Guelph business.

Just after 2 a.m. police were called to a business near Massey Road and Royal Road after a security guard on routine patrol came across three males removing metal from a compound and placing it in their van. A hole had been cut in the fence to gain access from a neighbouring business.

Two males fled on foot while the third tried to leave in the van but was blocked by the complainant’s vehicle. Officers arrived a short time later and arrested the driver. A search of the van revealed various break-in tools and more than 70 aluminum posts with a value of more than $50,000.

A 52-year-old Etobicoke man was arrested at the scene and charged with break and enter, possessing break-in tools and possessing stolen property.

On Saturday a 27-year-old Etobicoke man and a 25-year-old Toronto man turned themselves in to police and face similar charges. All three will appear in court April 8.
