A Windsor man has been arrested nearly 15 months after he was involved in a hit and run collision in Guelph, police report.
On Feb. 24, 2023, police were called to a collision on Silvercreek Parkway North near Woodlawn Road West. A motorist reported he was pulling out of a driveway when another driver sped up and struck the front corner of his car. The two got into a brief verbal altercation before the suspect fled the scene.
Police contacted the suspect, who said he was dropping off his niece and would then return to the scene but never did. Investigation revealed he was a suspended driver and was using his son’s car at the time.
On Wednesday the suspect was arrested by another police service and returned to Guelph.
A 62-year-old Windsor man is charged with failing to remain at a collision and driving while suspended.
