Just before 1 p.m., staff at a downtown establishment were concerned and called police when a man was seen in the building waving around a knife in the presence of other patrons. The male was located a short distance away in downtown core and was apprehended with the knife in his possession.
Michael McArthur, a 34-year-old Guelph man was charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace and three counts of breach of probation. He is scheduled to appear in court in January.
