An expired licence plate permit led to an impaired driving charge for a Guelph man Saturday night.
Just after 11 a.m. a vehicle was pulled over on Grange Street because the permit was expired. While speaking to the driver an odour of alcohol was detected on his breath. After failing a roadside breath test the driver was arrested and transported to the police station, where further tests confirmed he had more than the legal amount of alcohol in his system.
A 47-year-old Guelph man is charged with impaired driving.
