The Guelph Police Service would like to congratulate K9 Officer Charger on his retirement after 10 years of dedicated service.

Charger was imported from Germany and was paired with his partner Sergeant Andrew Crowe in July of 2011. He is a multi purpose police canine, trained in tracking, evidence search, area search, building search, obedience, agility, drug detection, detection of Canadian and American currency, as well as fire arms. Charger has located dozens of suspects over the course of his career and was always a popular attraction at the Guelph Police Week Open House.

Charger has received multiple citations from the United States Police Canine Association for his successful tracks. He competed at a high level at the USPCA Dog trials, taking first place in tracking, second in evidence search, and third in agility. In November 2019, Charger and his partner competed at the national level in Florida.

Charger will be living out his retirement years as a valued and loving member of the family with his partner Sergeant Crowe.
