Margaret Francis Deloris Yaskowich, who was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, would be the first to tell you that her birthday was July 29, 1966, but we sadly have to share that she passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 17, 2025. She is survived by her beloved mother, Deloris (Leon, 2019); her brothers: John (Charlene of Orleans) and David (Ingrid Rost); as well as by her sisters: Marie Craig (Geoff), Loretta de Sousa (Mark of North Bay) and Annette (John Burns).

She leaves behind multiple aunts and uncles, cousins, extended family members, nieces and nephews, including Sarah Shaw (Ben), Kyla and Alexander Craig, Elaine de Sousa (Kayden) and Thomas de Sousa (Kaitlyn) Galen, Pierce and Nolen Burns. She will be greatly missed by her best friend for over 50 years, Leanne Gazzola.

Margaret was a proud member of ARC Industries in the CLGW community for over 40 years where she made many lifelong connections and wonderful friends. She was also an enthusiastic horseback rider throughout her entire life. Margaret never met a stranger who would not become a friend by the end of their visit.

Margie loved spending time with her family, attending Thursday breakfasts, doing word searches, and being the world’s most ardent fan of Knight Rider.

She enjoyed years participating on Special Olympics teams, being a Girl Guide, and staying an active parishioner at Holy Rosary Church; attending mass independently for many years and sitting right up front.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Zajdlik, Dr. Mehta, Dr. Kennedy, and all the members of their health care teams. Sincere thanks also goes to all of Margaret’s teachers, Educational Assistants, and staff members who helped her along the journey from Rotary Children’s Centre, Sunnydale, Priory Park to graduation from John F. Ross C.V.I.

Friends and relatives are invited to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home – Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 11 am at Holy Rosary Church, 175 Emma Street, Guelph. A private family inurnment ceremony will follow.

In lieu of flowers and as an expression of sympathy, if desired, donations can be made to Holy Rosary Parish, Sunrise Therapeutic Riding & Learning Centre, or Community Living Guelph Wellington.
