It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Sheila at the age of 86 years at the Elliott Community in Guelph, Ontario on August 30, 2023.
Sheila is survived by her beloved husband, Roger. She was the proud and loving mother of Lisa Choban (late Derek) and Danny Wray. She was the cherished grandmother of Brittany and Devin Choban. Dear sister of Glenna Taylor (Garry) and sister-in-law of Winona Wray (late Ross). Sheila is also fondly remembered by her niece, nephews and their families.
For many years, prior to starting their family, Sheila was a dedicated registered nurse. She was very creative and artistic, as evident in her love of gardening and other mediums. She enjoyed her trips to Guatemala, with a team to help build schools, to Machu Picchu and Galapagos Island as well as to Churchill, Manitoba to see the polar bears. She spent 18 years travelling as far north as Fairbanks, Alaska, east to Newfoundland, west to Big Sur, California and south to Key West Florida, all in a small motor home, making memories of a lifetime.
The family invites relatives and friends to join them in Celebrating Sheila’s Life at the Guelph Country Club, 133 Woodlawn Rd. E. on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 4 – 8 p.m. They would also like to thank the staff at the Elliott Community and Dr. Ellen Lee for their care and compassion shown to Sheila over her time with them. Cremation has taken place.
Sheila will be laid to rest privately at Memory Gardens, Breslau with the assistance of Brombal Funeral Home & Cremation Care, One Delhi Street, Guelph (formerly Gilchrist Chapel). Memorial contributions to the Elliott Community, or to the charity of one’s choice would be greatly appreciated. We invite you to leave your memories and donations online at: www.brombal.ca where they will be directed to the family.
