A cherished resident of Guelph, passed away at St. Joseph's Health Centre on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the age of 80. Born in Irvine, Scotland to John and Joey Gordon, Ann made Canada her home in 1976, enriching the lives of those around her.
She was the beloved wife of Hugh White, also from Scotland. Their journey together spanned 65 years, including 59 years of marriage. Loving mother of Angela Marshall and Lorraine Sutherns. Cherished mother-in-law of Andrew Marshall and Oliver Sutherns. Her nurturing spirit and unconditional love will be forever missed.
Devoted grandmother of Mackenzie (28), Jacob (25), Jillian (25), Nathan (23), Anna (21) and Liam (16). She delighted in their accomplishments and wholeheartedly embraced their unique gifts.
She shared a lifelong bond of strength, comfort, and joy with her sister Moira Strachan from Ayrshire, Scotland. She was also a beloved aunt to her nieces and nephews in Scotland, England, and Canada.
Ann passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, curiosity, and unwavering devotion to family. A lover of reading, gardening, and deeply committed parent and grandparent, Ann's greatest joy was celebrating family milestones. Her keen interest in politics and deep affection for all things Scottish enriched every conversation. Ann’s kind spirit and loving heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Ann’s life will be held at The Arboretum, University of Guelph on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at 1 pm.
