We are very sad to announce the passing of Angela (Angie) June Whetstone (nee Taffeiren) peacefully at Woodhaven LTC home at the age of 101.

Born in Zennebeke, Belgium. Predeceased by her husband Gordon Whetstone, the love of her life. Sadly missed by her only daughter Janet (George) Wortman, Grandchildren Kimberley Wortman and Krista (Steven) Kohn, and great grandchildren Robert (Brianna), Alyssa and Zachary. Predeceased by her parents Mary & Harry Taffeiren and brothers James Taffeiren (Jean) and Andrew Taffeiren (Lillian). She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Angela spent two years in the army, where she met police officer Gordon Whetstone, and they married on November 17, 1942. They lived 42 years together before he passed. She worked at Kennedy's Bookstore in Guelph for many years and retired to help Gordon with his business Auto Car Park Controls. Angie was a great cook, loved to garden, knit sweaters, faithfully attended her church and went to the market on Saturdays. She watched golf, Wheel of Fortune & Jeopardy on TV. She belonged to a coffee club that met at Tim Hortons on weekdays and a Sunday breakfast club at Diana's Restaurant for many years. After living in Guelph for 62 years, she moved to Newmarket and then went to Woodhaven LTC home in Markham. Special thanks to Dr. Haw, caregiver Linda Humphrey, many nurses and PSW's and to Angela's grandchildren, Kimberley and Krista, who showed so much love and support to Angela in her final years.

Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate Parish, 28 Norfolk Street, Guelph, on Friday February 7, 2025, at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 762 Woolwich St, Guelph. Reception to follow in the church hall.
