Passed peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Albert Edward Welch; loving mother of Wendie (late Bill) van Haeften, Robert (Nancy) Johnston, Karen Johnston, Lynn (Kevin) Gmelin and Michael Johnston; devoted grandmother of Shayne, late Scott, Miranda, late Jamie, Rebecca, Alexandra, Jesse, Holly, Jacob, Tylor and Erin; and proud great-grandmother of Havanna, Aurora, Amaya, Abigail, Cooper and Jameson. Dorothy will be deeply missed by her siblings Barbara (late Edward) Leighton, late Edward (Treena) Waterman, Donald (Joyce) Waterman and Patricia (David) Storms; by her extended family and by her many friends. Predeceased by the father of her children, the late Frank Johnston.
Dorothy worked at Imperial Tobacco for over 40 years. She loved her family and put her heart into all she did.
The family would like to extend their gratitude for all the care and support from Dr. Graham, Dr. Robinson and from all the staff at Hospice Wellington.
A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held in the late spring.
