It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Barbara Joyce Vivian, in her 71st year.
Mother of Tamarra (Susan), Richard (Erin) and Dru (BooBoo and Rory), as well as grandmother of Coral, Ocean (Colton), Ethan and Lucy, and great grandmother to Max, Aurora and Lilly.
Barbara was born in Wales and immigrated to Canada as a child. She grew up with her parents, Doris and Reginald Littler, in the Burlington area. She spent her working years in Guelph caring for preschoolers at Willowdale Daycare while she raised 3 wonderful children as a single parent. Barbara was known by her family and friends for her playful attitude and colourful clothing choices. It wasn’t unusual to have her stick out her tongue at you when she knew you were right but she didn’t want you to be.
Wanting to give back to the community that supported her, Barbara was a dedicated volunteer during the early years of Onward Willow and was a member of the local housing board.
She took great delight in spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. That meant spending additional time with her grown children as well. She recently completed her last bucket list item of a cruise to Alaska, and she did this trip with her oldest granddaughter.
She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Barbara was also known for her kindness so in lieu of flowers or donations please do a random act of kindness to honour her memory.
