Passed away peacefully at the age of 99. Kitty was the devoted wife of the late Joseph D. Strite for 60 years. Loving mother of Kitty Strite Gatto, Judy Strite Tolley (Lamont Tolley), Debbie (Kevin) O'Brien, Nancy and Richard. Her treasured grandchildren Jeff Gatto, Mark (Christa) Gatto, Michael (Natalie) Parniak, Jeremy (Jessica) O'Brien, Heather O'Brien, and Colin (Sauve Cressman) O'Brien, Ashley Grant (Rob Bellis) and Brody Grant (Melissa Martin). Special Great Grandchildren Isabelle Parniak, Soren Gatto, Zoey Bellis, Cooper O’Brien, Violet O’Brien and Sander O’Brien. She now goes to join husband Joseph (August 2006), daughter Kitty (August 2002), daughter Judy (April 2012), grandson Jeff (May 2010), brother Joseph Gillings (January 2009) and parents Kitty (February 1986) and Joe Gillings (October 1992), of Preston Cambridge.

Kitty loved life and very much appreciated her many friends who kept her busy and added so much happiness to her life. She enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels for many years, at the St. Joseph's Health Care Centre and with the Holy Rosary Catholic Women’s League. She was a talented painter and very skilled at needle work. Please remember her in your Prayers.

Friends will be received at the Gilbert Macintyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph (N1G 4X9). A vigil for Kitty will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 9, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Church, 175 Emma Street, Guelph on Friday, January 10, 2024 at 10:30 AM. Internment will then take place in the Marymount Cemetery in Guelph. A reception will follow the service at the Holy Rosary Church Hall.

As expressions of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, donations to either St. Joseph's Health Care Foundation, 100 Westmount Road, Guelph (N1H 5H8) or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
