It is with heavy hearts that the family of John Stradiotto wish to announce his passing on Friday, September 27th, 2024, after a brief illness. When his time came, John carried himself with strength and courage and unwavering commitment to his family. He will be dearly missed.
If you knew John, you knew that his family was his pride and joy. He was a devoted partner and loving husband of 21 years to Michelle Ketchabaw. His children, Nya and Owen Ketchabaw and Kaela and Nicole Stradiotto were the centre of his life. With enthusiasm, he embraced his role as grandfather to Solaar and Raina. John was a fun-loving, kind, and patient father with an adventurous spirit. He was always eager to take the kids for a paddle in his cedar strip canoe or to go for an early morning swim around the island.
John encouraged his children to stay curious and to be life-long learners in supporting their love of art and music. John’s personal dedication to physical fitness and health shone through in his participation in outdoor activities with his family such as cross-country skiing, bicycling, canoeing, swimming and sailing. John was a brother and friend who dedicated his life to those he loved.
John’s resilience and adventurous spirit live on through his family and the memories they hold dear. He will be deeply missed by his siblings: Nida Vallancourt, Rino (Donna) Stradiotto, Elio (Nancy) Stradiotto, Rita (Randy) Sartor, Sister Jude Stradiotto, Vilma Stradiotto, Norma (George) Zuccala, Virginia Stradiotto, and his brother-in-law Bill Malone.
John was predeceased by his parents Virginio and Josephine Stradiotto, his brother Aldo Stradiotto, his sister Mary Malone, and his brother-in-law Ron Vallencourt.
Cremation has taken place, and a private family interment will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held in John’s hometown of Guelph, Ontario in July 2025.
