Born on July 4th, 1944, Fred passed away on September 29th, 2024 at the age of 80.

Beloved son of Henry (Chick) Snyder and Bertha Snyder (Irving). Dear brother to his little sister Brenda Jill Moretti (2000), brother-in-law Oliver Moretti (2019).

We said farewell to a very funny, loving and sweet man.

Fred leaves behind his loving wife Brenda, son John (2024), daughter Shannon, grandkids Justin, Griffen and Peyton, son-in-law Rick, nieces Andrea (Kevin), Christine (Sarah) and their children.

Fred worked at Steele Wire Springs from the time he was 18 years old and continued there until it closed 30+ years later. He then moved on to the UGDSB where his little sister Brenda encouraged him to apply, telling him he wasn’t too old to get hired, he then retired at 64 years old to enjoy antique clock collecting and he studied books and the internet to learn how to fix them. Slowly dementia took over and stole his adventure in life.

We, as a family were forced to make the hard decision of placing Fred in a nursing home for his safety.

Special thank you to the staff at Riverside Glen for their love and care.

At Fred’s request, cremation has taken place, and a private celebration of life will follow at a later date.

Arrangements entrusted to WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com).

Fly high and rest easy dad.

A tree will be planted in memory of Frederick H. Snyder in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
