Passed away at Wellington Terrace on Sunday, October 16, 2016, in his 93rd year. He was the husband of the late Catherine Elizabeth “Betty”, father of Ted (Kerry Daly) and loving grandfather of Gregory and Brendan. Predeceased by sister Margaret and step brothers Ted and Leslie. Missed by many nieces and nephews. Calvin was one of the longest serving employees of the City of Guelph, serving in the Water Works department for over 41 years. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and was well known for his passion of walking, something that helped maintain his health many years into his retirement. In addition to his passion for the outdoors, Calvin also bred and showed beagles for decades. Additionally, he bred and showed fancy poultry throughout Ontario and the North Eastern United States for many decades, winning many large and prestigious shows. A special thanks to Carole Ann Hattle for her care and help and fondly remembered by the entire Nichol/Hattle family, neighbours for over 50 years. Calvin’s family wants to thank the staff at The Elliot Home and Wellington Terrace who provided such wonderful care these past few years. Friends and family are invited to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph for visitation on Friday, October 21st, 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Private internment of ashes at Farnham Cemetery, Arkell. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to The Elliot Home or Wellington Terrace.
