April 2, 1982 to September 15, 2024

She leaves us too early, but now rests without pain.

Sarah died peacefully and surrounded by her family at Hospice Simcoe on Sunday morning, September 15, after a 2.5-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was 42.

Survived by her husband Chris, kiddos Nathan and Grace, parents Michael and Brenda McCarthy, grandparents Barry and Joan Allemang, brother Taylor and sister-in-law Rhiannon. Remembered lovingly, too, by the many friends she made at St. Peter's Catholic Secondary School, University of Guelph, and Altus Group, among the many roads she walked.

A lover of crochet, crafting, chocolate, and travel, she was somehow an old soul, a homebody, and an adventurer. You always knew where you stood with Sarah. We loved her for her contrasts, contradictions, wisdom, intelligence, and beauty. The world is better for the brief time she had upon it.

Anyone and everyone who loves Sarah, and her family is invited to wear a splash of colour and join us for a Celebration of Life at Liberty North (100 Caplan Ave., Unit 1) in Barrie on Sunday, Oct. 6 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Her uncle, Ken Allemang, will deliver the eulogy at 2 p.m., and that will be immediately followed by other words of remembrance.

In lieu of flowers, please give in some way to the causes close to Sarah's heart, including the RVH Foundation, Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, Ovarian Cancer Canada, Hospice Simcoe, Ronald McDonald House Charities and Rainbow Railroad.

Funeral Arrangements entrusted to Peaceful Transition. Condolences messages or memories of Sarah can be left for the family at www.peacefultransition.ca
