It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Vincenzo (Vincent) Giuseppe Scroccaro on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, in his 94th year.

Those who knew Vincent will remember his kindness, his cheerful outlook and his words of wisdom to live a happy life. You would never know, from the ever-present smile on his face, that Vincent lived through a world war in Europe, near-poverty and starting over in Canada. He worked one, two and sometimes three jobs in order to support his family. As a father, grandfather, active community member and husband – Vincent showed us how to live good, healthy and happy lives. He loved to sing, and for years was a member of the Italian Canadian Choir and the Holy Rosary Choir – attending for Sunday Mass and many funerals. He loved his days in Florida and enjoyed his time with friends playing golf.

May his memory be a blessing to us all.

Beloved husband of Shirley (Wheeler McCann) Scroccaro. Loved father of Tracy (Paul) and Michael (Sophia). Stepfather of Lisa (Jiuliano). Loving grandfather of Ruth, Isaac, and Esther. Loving step – grandfather of Laura (Zilio) McLaren, Mark, David, Emily Zilio. Loving step – great grandfather to Jacob and Ellie Rose Mclaren. Dear brother of Teresa (the late Angelo) Zanardo, Rachele known as Kay (the late Duilio) Manera, the late Angelo (Mary) Scroccaro, and Maria (the late Berto) DalBello. Vincent is also survived by his ex-wife and friend Christa. He is predeceased by his parents Paolina and Fausto Scroccaro, sister Angela (the late Giovanni) Zago, and brother Angelo (Mary) Scroccaro. He will be dearly missed by many friends and family members.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 10:30am at Holy Rosary Church, 175 Emma St, Guelph, followed by reception with coffee and snacks in the church community room.
