It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of Herjinder Kaur Saini. Herjinder passed away peacefully in her home on February 9, 2025 at the age of 83.
She was the beloved wife of Tarlochan (Jolly) Saini. Loving mother of Gurinder Saini (Paramjit), Kamaljit (Kam) Saini, and Sukhvinder (Sukh) Saini (Christine Kleist). Proud grandmother of Nadina, Devan, Yasmine (Jessy), Suniel (Sunny), Victoria (Tori), Tyanna (Tya) Saini who were all the light of her life.
Born on August 15, 1942, in India, and immigrating to Canada in 1976, Herjinder was the cherished daughter of the late Tara and Baldev Puria. She is survived by her brother, Sarwan Puria (Paramjit) and many nieces and nephews. Herjinder was predeceased by her sister, Mohinder Kaur (Mukhtiar).
An elementary teacher, Herjinder was proud of her profession and encouraged everyone to pursue education. She was a woman of strength, resilience, compassion and grace. She touched the lives of all who knew her and her commitment to family was unwavering as she devoted herself to create a warm and loving home for her children and grandchildren. Her presence will be deeply missed by her family and friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, on Friday, February 14, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, February 15, 2025. Final prayer (Bhog & Antim Ardaas) and Langar at the Gurdwara, 410 Clair Road East, Guelph, Ontario, N1L 1H1 Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m..
